Catholic Cathedral College was formed in 1987 with the amalgamation of Xavier College and Sacred Heart College . These two schools trace their origins back to 1868 when the first Catholic girl’s school in the city was opened by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions, followed 20 years later by the Marist Brothers with a school for boys. For more than 140 years Catholic education has been delivered on this site , against the backdrop of the beautiful Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.
